Both models start with a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces at least 235 horsepower, offering dependable acceleration. When you look at their available engines, however, there are a few notable distinctions.

With substantially more horsepower, the Cadillac XT5 gets up to speed more quickly, making highway merges and passing maneuvers effortless and confident.

The Nautilus pairs its engines with an 8-speed automatic for steady, predictable power, while the XT5’s 9-speed transmission delivers more responsive, controlled performance. When it comes to drivetrains, only the Cadillac XT5 offers both front-wheel drive for efficiency and all-wheel drive (AWD) for added traction. The Nautilus comes exclusively with AWD, making the XT5 the only model that gives you the power to choose.

Confident Control at Every Turn

The Cadillac XT5 and the Lincoln Nautilus both offer multiple drive modes, letting you adjust performance, suspension, and steering to match road conditions or your preferred driving style. Modes range from Tour in the XT5 (Normal in the Nautilus) for polished everyday driving to settings designed to enhance connection to the road and controlled steering at higher speeds.

The Nautilus features an available adaptive suspension that adjusts damping up to 100 times per second for added comfort. While that’s impressive, the XT5 raises the bar with its available chassis damping system that adjusts up to 200 times per second for sharper handling and a truly engaging drive.

Presence That Commands Attention

Undeniably, Cadillac and Lincoln vehicles are known for their head-turning appearance. The XT5 features a sculpted silhouette with crisp lines, enhanced by sleek aerodynamics with active aero shutters and a sporty rear spoiler. The Nautilus, by contrast, offers a softer, more rounded profile. Both include adaptive LED headlamps, but only the XT5 offers puddle lamps that project its crest onto the ground while illuminating your path.

Their exterior palettes include classic neutrals and a bold red, yet the XT5 ventures further with striking hues like Opulent Blue and Emerald Lake. Both offer accent packages, but while the Nautilus has only black, the XT5 adds Gloss Black as well as Red and Bronze options that highlight body decals and wheel caps for a true statement piece.

Luxury You Can Feel

As expected, stepping inside the Cadillac XT5 or the Lincoln Nautilus reveals cabins furnished in premium materials and equipped with upscale amenities. Both begin with brand-specific leatherette (Inteluxe in the XT5 and Soft Touch in the Nautilus) and offer full leather options. While both feature multi-position front seats, the XT5 adds standard heated functionality for immediate comfort.

Enhancing the cabin experience, both SUVs include acoustic laminated windshield and front-door glass to reduce outside noise and support available Tri-Zone Climate Control. Ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and panoramic roofs add light, comfort, and skyward views, creating an enjoyable environment for all.

Intuitive Infotainment, Clearly Designed

Both the Cadillac XT5 and the Lincoln Nautilus offer a full suite of standard and available infotainment features with full-color touchscreens, including:

Cadillac and Lincoln take safety as seriously as you do, equipping the XT5 and the Nautilus with driver-assistance features that act as a virtual copilot, monitoring all sides of your vehicle. The XT5 offers more than 20 safety features, including a standard HD Rear Vision Camera, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Forward Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection and Automatic Emergency Braking. The Nautilus offers many similar systems.

Where the XT5 stands out is in parking support. While the Nautilus includes Rear Parking Sensors, the XT5 adds both Front and Rear Park Assist as standard and exclusively offers available Automatic Parking Assist with Braking. This system automatically steers your SUV into or out of detected parallel or perpendicular parking spaces, technology the Lincoln does not match.
